Event Description:
Just as iconic as the Leopold Shack is the Leopold bench, a design utilized by the Leopold family during their weekends and holidays at the Shack. Join us to build your own Leopold bench from wood harvested right here on the Aldo Leopold Foundation property. This half-day workshop will include an introduction to the iconic bench style, helpful tips and tricks to consider when constructing Leopold benches, and time and materials to build a full-size Leopold Bench from pre-measured lumber harvested on-site. Instructor Alan Anderson is a local woodworker and designer and builder of custom handcrafted furniture. He is a longtime friend of the Leopold family and tour guide at the Foundation.
